US Tariffs

We are so happy to announce that following confirmation from Australia Post, we can now continue to ship the US without our customers incurring tariff charges for orders under US$800.
This applies to all shipments being sent via USPS, so moving forward if you wish to ship your goods using DHL Express - please get in touch.
Thank you to you all for your ongoing support and we hope this is the last update we will have to make (but should we need, we will continue to update you here regarding any developments).

A Note From Our Founder
It is with great sadness that I inform our US family that from midnight Sunday 13th April, you will no longer be able to shop duty free from Petit Playa here in Australia. As a small, Mumma-run business - of which 95% of my income relies on my US customers - this will be nothing short of devastating.
The US government will proceed to apply a tariff between 15-48% of your order's value from May 2nd (subject to change) and as such, you will need to place your order with us before midnight on Sunday 13th April to allow for your package to arrive before this deadline [using International Standard Shipping, 6-12 business days].
How We Will Adapt
Long term, we are already in the process of securing a US based fulfilment option which will enable us to consume these tariffs on behalf of our US customers but in the short term, we have a plan:
1. 'Final Chance' Duty Free Shopping - 1 Week Only (Ends Sunday 13th April)
All US orders of in-stock items placed on or before 11:59pm on Sunday 13th April (Sydney, Australia time) using International Standard Shipping, will arrive with you on or before the May 2nd deadline and avoid additional duties charges*. So if you've been waiting or want to buy again before the deadline… now is the time.
*As of April 7th 2025, this is what the US government has advised. However, this is subject to change in light of their erratic behaviour, although less likely at this juncture.
2. Preorders: 20% Off (Limited Time Only)
For a limited time only, all preorder items shipping between late April-May will receive 20% off at checkout (cannot be used in conjunction with other discount codes). These preorders, in light of being shipped later than Sunday 13th April, will more likely incur the new tariff charges by US customs and as such, our 20% discount will help negate a large portion of those costs, saving you on average US$29-35 per order (based on an average order value of US$120 + including estimated duties and fees).
Placing a mixed order? Please place separate orders for preorder and in-stock items to avoid in-stock items being held and duties charges being applied unnecessarily due to later shipment date.
Placed a preorder prior to this sale? This discount will be extended to all existing US-based preorders made on or before April 7th and shipping after Sunday 13th April 2025. Where any existing discount was applied on the original order, the difference between that discount and the new 20% discount will be honoured, i.e. you used a 10% discount on your original preorder item, so we will refund you an additional 10% to the item's original value, bringing your total discount to 20%. Please get in touch via our Contact Us page to have your discount applied or reply to the email sent to you.
3: "Not-So-Mid-Year Sale"
Our mid-year sale, which normally takes place in June, will instead take place later this month (subject to change) and enable you to shop up to 60% off our entire collection and include all preorder items (capped at 20% off as per our previous discount). This sale is to further assist in reducing the financial burden to our US customers post May 2nd by way of reducing their overall order value and subsequently, reduce the charges imposed by the US government on those values*. This sale will also enable those who missed out or were financially unable to place an order during the final week of duty-free shopping.
*For customers wondering now ‘Why buy now and not wait until the sale?’, the reality is that even with sale discounts applied, the overall cost - once duties charges are applied - will be the same or greater than if ordering before the Sunday 13th April deadline.
In summary, I want to thank you - my US family - from the bottom of my heart for the incredible love and support you have bestowed on me during this first year in business.
This move by the US government and more so, the nature in which it has been actioned, will be nothing short of devastating for myself and many other small businesses - but you can bet your bottom dollar (or mine, to be exact! 🙃) that I will find a way and will come back even stronger because after all, that’s what us Mummas and Caregivers do time and time again.
